CEREMONY

We’ve chosen to get married during an intimate ceremony with just our immediate family. We hope you’ll understand!

Some of you have expressed disappointment over not seeing us in our formal wedding attire on Friday. So, if you are around Atlanta and want to stop by the Piedmont Park Dock after our ceremony between 4:40-5:45pm on Friday, September 3 to congratulate us, share a toast and take some pics, come on by! We will be leaving this area of the park promptly at 5:45pm. We’re sorry we didn’t share this option ahead of time, but we were feeling indecisive about it and have been busy doing things like trying to get people f@#%in vaccinated, training for triathlons, and trying to get a parasite out of our new kitten. We hope you understand. Anyhow, no pressure at all to come. We will have photos of us from Friday to see at the celebration on Saturday so you can see what we looked like when we said ‘I do’ then.

We will be getting ready, getting married and trying to spend screen-free time with each other and our immediate families on Friday and early in the day on Saturday. If you have a question on Friday or Saturday before 4pm that isn’t our wedding website (password Lumicat1) or on the internets, or you have an issue to communicate, text or call Nancy’s sister and wedding officiant, Reverend Dr. Lisa Andrade, at 401-323-3781. If you text or call us, we may be delayed in responding. We will add this email to the wedding website so you can refer back to it.

This is a casual, non-traditional, chill-vibe wedding celebration. :)

AFTER PARTY

We will be heading to the nearby West Midtown Provisions District and visiting a few bars and other establishments (likely masked). Places we like in this area include Ormsbys, Little Trouble, JCT Kitchen & Bar, Drawbar. We don’t have anything booked, so thanks for being flexible and going with the flow. No pressure to go, but we’d love to hang with ya’ll as long as possible! This area of town is a 15-minute walk from Studio 887 or a 3–4-minute drive. Some folks will have cars and can shuttle, or we rideshare over if folks don’t want to walk.

There are a ton of options around the city.

NOTE: ATLANTA’S ComiCon Festival, Dragon Con is also planned for Labor Day Weekend weekend. You might want to book lodging sooner rather than later since more people will be in town. It’s not our scene, but if it is yours, you might want to check out some of the events! You’ll surely see people in cool costumes around town!

TRANSPORTATION

GETTING TO AND FROM THE HARTSFIELD JACKSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Rideshare (Lyft or Uber)

You can use Lyft or Uber to get into the city from the airport. The pickup area is a short walk from the baggage claim and the airport website has videos to show exactly how to get to the pickup point from Domestic Terminal. Unless you are flying on Delta Airlines, you'll likely use the North Terminal Baggage Claim. Delta uses the South Terminal Baggage Claim.

For returning to the airport you may be dropped off directly at the terminal departure area.

Public Transit (MARTA)

Atlanta doesn’t have the best public transportation system, but we do have one! MARTA has direct connections to the airport accessed from the Domestic Terminal. Follow signs to Ground Transportation and the station access is inside the airport. Purchase a Breeze Pass (reloadable) or Breeze Ticket (not reloadable) for a small fee and add your desired fare. We suggest using Google Maps transit directions to find the stop closest to your destination.

Taxi 

Taxi service at the Airport is located in the Yellow Bus aisle in the Ground Transportation area, for additional information, call (404) 530-3485.

Car Rental 

There are lots of car rental companies at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. 

Getting to and from the Celebration and After Party

We recommend taking Lyft or Uber or driving and parking in a paid lot at King Plow Arts Center. It might seem confusing to find King Plow, but just look for the green doors! There will be a sign for our celebration at the entrance of the green doors directing you to Studio 887. There is free parking in a garage in the area we will be hanging out for the after-party.

GETTING AROUND ATLANTA

Uber or Lyft may be the easiest option. No smartphone or prefer to use a taxi? Check with your hotel for suggestions, some companies include Atlanta Checker Cab and Buckhead Safety Cab.

Depending on your start and endpoint, MARTA may have stops within walking distance to where you are going. We suggest checking Google Maps transit directions or the MARTA website before taking MARTA.
